I don't see him taking on the job beyond an interm level. No reason to mess with his legacy if things didn't work out long term. I couldn't see them fire him some time down the road. The man is an Icon in this state. He basically was brought in to make the fans and more importantly the boosters feel better about the direction of Husker football going forward.

I hope that his next coaching decision is a better one than Solich. I do agree that he is on for 2-3 years tops. Sometime over the next 6-12 months we should know the identity of who will be groomed for this position going forward.

Tom looked a bit frail in the video tape, but his mind was as sharp as ever. I suspect he will have some heart-felt comments with Callahan and then show him the door after the last game of the season (assuming no Bowls- ha!) Bring back the old network...Turner Gill...Bo Palini?
