You may have already noticed this but I think it is very significant.
The underdogs are 18-8 against the spread so far.
Last years NBA playoffs saw the favorites rule. I guess the bookmakers decided to get their money back this year.
Vegas knows that the 'squares' (those who gamble for just fun) absolutely love the favorites. So they have adjusted the lines up higher for the faves this year.
RESULT...The underdogs are winning and so is Vegas and the 'sharps" (those who gamble for a living).

Seems like the NHL is in an "over" trend, although I don't have stats to back it up.

You are correct my friend. Through Saturday the over was 20-11-5 in the NHL playoffs.

Through Sunday's games the 'dogs are now 21-9. They went 8-3 Friday-Sunday. Not sure what will happen though in round 2.

I was incorrect with the NHL over/under totals. Actual record through Sunday's games is 23-13-6. My bad :)
