After Wednesday's embarrassing loss to Costa Rica, the US national team really needs a good showing Saturday night against Honduras. They sit at #2 in the standings now, 2 points behind Costa Rica and they really need those 3 points Saturday night. Calling this a "must win" is a little premature, but a loss at home really would be devastating now. Especially at a time when we all want to see what this team is made of coming off a horrible performance. If they want to advance in South Africa next Summer, then they need to show that they can handle it and they belong. That starts Saturday. Hopefully they have figured out what's wrong with the defense because I didn't see anyone defending Wednesday night. DaMarcus Beasley also needs to step up his game. I don't know how many times I saw him go backwards with his passes, but it was a lot more than I saw him going forward trying to create offense. They will be down a few guys due to injury and Bradley also sits with 2 yellow cards, but there are no excuses. They are back home, Soldier field has sold 50K tickets, they will be back on grass and not that green parking lot they played on in Costa Rica, and most importantly, they are better than Honduras. They need to come away Saturday with a win.
