Favre the...Viking??
Tags:NFL>Minnesota Vikings

The way I see it, there’s only 2 things that can happen with the whole “Favre situation”.

1. Brett can just come out and say “just kidding” and stay retired. Sit back and watch the Packers slug it out in the soft NFC central, all the while thinking “I’m better than all these guys”.

or

2. Brett can decide to come back, where after a public and messy breakup; he will end up a free agent and probably signing with an in-conference team since the biggest QB needs are there. Sure he could sign with the Jets or Ravens, since both have equally pressing QB needs, but the Vikings and Bears would be looking at this as the last piece needed to make a serious playoffs run. And if the choice is up to Brett, the Vikings get the call due to supporting cast.

The Packers could also trade Favre, which would be another PR nightmare for the Pack front office as that saga would surely play out in the legend QB’s favor. What team would give anything up for a guy that would just say, “if you trade for me, I’ll stay retired”. The cards are all in Favre’s hand right now and the Packers organization is backed into a corner. However, they put themselves there by forcing Favre to make a decision earlier than he wanted to in the first place.

We’re all tired of his, “maybe I’ll play and maybe I won’t” routine, but athletes at the highest level have a very hard time walking away, especially when they can still play at that level. And if Brett wants to play...he is going to play...for somebody.

The one thing that will almost positively not happen is Brett putting on the Packers gear for 1 more season. This is about as sure a bet there is right now since this would destroy any chance of Aaron Rogers ever doing anything in Green Bay, and right now, Rogers is the future.

So if anyone is getting excited to see #4 play in Lambeau one more year, get your tickets now, because he will only have one game there, and he will be in purple.

Ha Ha Ha, Bret is still under contract for 2 years. Last week he was thinking about playing again, then later said it was B.S. Any ways, you folks across the river hated Bret. Said he couldn't win in the Metro. My ? to you is, Do you still want to be losers with Bret? Knowing he can't win in MN!

I hope he stays retired. I would hate to see him get hurt on the first play and be forced to retire.
